今年は訪豪の年です。会の４０周年という節目の年でもあります。今回も一次募集の時期がやってきました。ツアー会社が組む出来合いのスタディツアーとは一味もふた味も違う、大変内容の充実したものとなります。前回も一次募集で席が埋まりましたので、ご希望の方はお早めにお申し込みください。また説明会を3月7日に実施いたします。まだよく分からない、迷っているという方はお気軽にご参加いただき、説明をお聞きになった上でご検討いただければと思います。不安なことやご質問など、なんでもお答えいたします。皆様のご参加お待ちしております。（当日ご都合が悪い方はメールでも質問を受け付けておりますので、気軽にご連絡くださいね。）

今日はスタディツアーの報告会でした。１１日間、濃密な時間を共に過ごした仲間と久しぶりの再会が嬉しくて会場に着くとみんなニコニコ。おやつをつまみながら、スタディツアーの様子をまとめたビデオを見たり、引率の方々からのお話や、参加者・保護者の感想を伝えあいました。写真を見ながらみんなで笑ったり、子どもたちの断片的な話ではよく分からなかったエピソードを引率者の方が巧みな話術で再構成してくださって改めて大笑いしたりと、とても楽しかったです。ほんわかした笑顔で互いに言葉を交わしている子どもたちを見ると、もうこれで全員で集まることはないのかと、少し寂しくなりました。団長から解団宣言があり、最後に記念写真を撮って、温かい思いを胸に学校を後にした報告会でした。

11日間のスタディツアーを終えて、ようやく一行が日本に帰ってきました。体調を大きく崩すこともなく、全員無事に帰ってくることができました。引率の方々、１１日間本当にお疲れ様でした。天候にも恵まれ、充実した旅だったようです。飛行機が予定より２時間半も遅れてゲートから出てきたのは夜10時を回った後だったにも関わらず、どの子も帰り道におみやげ話が止まらなかったと保護者のみなさんからは知らせていただきました。アイアンサイドの先生方やホストファミリーの方々にも本当にお世話になりました。単なるホームステイと観光だけでない、中身の濃い滞在を実現できるのは３５年以上も続くお互いの交流の積み重ねと友情や信頼があるからこそです。９月２日には報告会を予定しています。みんなの感想を聞くのを楽しみにしています。 The study group came back to Japan completing 11-day tour. Nobody fell sick during the tour and all came back in one piece. Big thanks to the staffs who looked after the children during the stay. The weather has been good all the while and children had wonderful experiences in Australia. Although it was quite late at night by the time they came out of the airport, parents told us later that they all excitedly talked about their great adventure on the way home. Big big thanks to our friends and host families of Ironside State School for all their support. This is a really a special tour, nothing like a simple home stay and site seeing, and it's all thanks to our almost 40 years of friendship and mutual trust. We are planning to have a get together meeting on the 2nd of September. Looking forward to hearing all the wonderful stories from the participants.

７日目：この日はローンパインコアラサンクチュアリー（保護区）にみんなで出かけました。オーストラリアでは最近コアラの抱っこを許可していないところが多いのですが、ここでは２５ドル払えば抱っこして写真が撮れます。２０世紀初頭に商業目的で２００万頭も乱獲されたのち、今は野生のコアラの数は２万頭とも８万頭とも言われているのだそうです。高い料金ですが、コアラやその他の動物の保護に役立てて貰えるといいですね。ちなみに今気がつきましたが、ローンパイン(Lone Pine)って一本松って意味ですね。。一本松コアラ保護区。訳すと結構シュールな字面です。 ８日目：ブリスベンの市内観光でセントジョーンズ大聖堂の見学に行きました。英国国協会、いわゆるアングリカンチャーチの教会です。ヘンリー八世が世継ぎ欲しさに離婚をするため、ローマ・カトリックと袂を分かって出来たという英国国教会ですが、建物の雰囲気は思った以上にカトリック風です。中世の教会がそうだったように、聖職者、石工、建築家が協力して設計し１００年かけて完成させたものなのだそうです。建築が始まったのは１９０６年、完成したのはなんと２００９年、つい最近です！教会のオーケストラや合唱団もいるようで、アートイベントやコンサートなども催されるとのこと。音響も優れているのだそうです。聞いてみたいですね。 さて、早いものでスタディツアーも終盤です。最後の移動日を除くと、実質あと2日を残すところとなりました。明日はアイアンサイド小学校に戻り、夕方からはお別れ会です。残りの期間も体調に気をつけて、良い時間を過ごして欲しいなと思います。 Day7: The study group went to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. In Australia, less and less institutions are allowing tourists to hold a Koala for a photo session, but here in Lone Pine, you can do that if you pay 25 dollars. In the early 20th century, over 2million Koalas were killed. Now allegedly there are only 20000 to 80000 Koalas in wild.$25 is rather expensive but hope the money will be well spent to protect Koalas and their habitats. Day8: It's sight seeing day. They went to see St.John's Cathedral. It's an Anglican Church. Church of England was established when Henry IIIV renounced papal authority, but the feel of the architecture is rather catholic. The design of the building was achieved through collaboration between clergy, stonemasons and architect over a period of 100years like churches that had been built in the Middle Ages. The construction began in 1906 and finished in 2009. So recent! The church has its own orchestra and camerata and they often host concerts and art event there. Acoustic is said to be superb. Wish to go there myself one day. Time flies and we are already in the final phase of the study tour. We have only 3 days to go. Tomorrow, they will go back to ironside state school and will have farewell party in the evening. Hope everyone will have a great time during the remaining 3 days.

3日目：チェラバでの2日目は、朝から盛りだくさんでした。朝食、朝礼の後、馬に乗ってバランスロックまでのハイキング。みんなでオーストラリアの雄大な自然を体感しました。広い青空を見上げ、大きな岩の上で大の字になっている写真が素敵です。雄大な風景の写真や映像は、ネット時代の今、探せばいくらでも「見る」ことはできますが、五感に訴えかける経験に取って変わることはできません。二次元で表現できない「身体的な知」を多く得ることにも大きな価値があると思っています。 午後は羊の毛刈り見学や、動物への餌やり体験、また夕飯後には星空をみんなで見にいきました。冬のオーストラリアの夜空。街のあかりに邪魔されることなく、満天の星空を見ることができたようです。引率の撮った素晴らしい写真でさえ伝え切ることができない、どんなにか静かで不思議に満ちた光景だったことでしょう。帰ってきたら感想を聞いてみたいです。 4日目：チェラバでの最後の日です。午前中は宝物探しゲームをしたり、チームに分かれてゲームをして過ごしました。ベランダでランチを取ったのち、お世話になったチェラバリゾートをバスで出発。ようやくアイアンサイド小学校にて、ホストファミリーとの対面を果たしました。ここからがスタディツアーのメインパートの始まりです。今日は土曜なので、明日の日曜日はみんなホストファミリーとそれぞれに過ごす予定になっています。そして月曜日は、いよいよパフォーマンスの本番です！みんな頑張ってね！ Day 3: The second day at Cherrabah was full day with activities. After breakfast and morning meeting, children did horseback riding and trailed to Balance Rock. Great opportunity to appreciate the grand beauty of Australian wilderness. My favorite photo is the one with a girl lying on the rock under the big blue sky. We can search and see tons of beautiful sceneries on internet nowadays, but seeing it is one thing, and experiencing it is quite another. In the afternoon, they saw sheep shearing, and fed animals. At night, they enjoyed star gazing. Australian winter starry night. No city light that mask the beauty of constellations. It must have been a gorgeous and quiet moment with sense of wonder. Would very much love to hear their impression when they come back. Day 4: Last day at Cherrabah. Children enjoyed scavenger hunt and some team games. After lunch, they left for Ironside, and finally got together with host family. The main part of the tour has just begun. It's Saturday today, and tomorrow, they will spend the weekend with their host families. On Monday, they will perform songs and other arts in a welcome party. Go Sakai kids! さてさて、始まりました、スタディツアー。昨晩関空を飛び立った一行は、飛行機の離陸が少し遅れていたにも関わらず、無事、シドニーでのトランジットをこなして、予定した国内線でブリスベンに到着することができました。空港では、アイアンサイド小学校のジャニス教頭、レイチェル先生、フィリップ先生という馴染み深い方々が出迎えてくださり、ほぼ一年ぶりの嬉しい再会でした。引率の方々がWiFiで写真を送ってくださるのですが、みんな元気そうな様子でホッとしています。中には移動中の大人の爆睡写真などを送ってくる人もいて、撮られた方のお疲れいかほどかと心配な反面、その無防備な寝顔がおかしくてそれも保護者の方々に公開してしまう分別のない写真担当は、このブログ管理者と同一人物です. 今日から二泊三日でクイーンズランドのワーウィックという所にあるチェラバリゾートで、ファームステイを経験します。写真ではお天気も良いようで、半袖の子もいたり、上着を着込んでいる子もいたりです。別の引率の先生からは写真付きで、「暖炉の火にあたるくらいの涼しさです」という心和むコメントが寄せられ、「暖炉の火にあたるくらいの「涼しさ」、と３回くらい唱えてしまいました（笑）このようなコメントや写真のやりとりで、先生方のチャーミングなお人柄に触れることができるのも、実はこのスタディツアーの隠れた醍醐味でもあります。 今日は到着して、自由時間、夕飯と休息が主な行程でしたが、明日からは、乗馬体験や羊の毛刈り見学など、農場リゾート（？）で色々な経験をさせていただく予定です。毎日、とはいきませんが、なるだけ更新していきますのでどうぞ一緒にツアーを楽しんでくださいね。 Now it was the Day 2 of the study tour. The group's flight left KIX a bit later than the schedule, but they made it through the transit at Sydney without any problem, and made it to Brisbane on schedule. Our good friends from Ironside, Janice, Racheal and Phillip came to meet us at the airport. Very happy reunion after almost a year. The accompanying adults send photos along the way and all the kids look healthy and happy, which is a big relief for us staffs. The group will stay at Cherrabah Resort for 2 nights. Seems like it's sunny there, some kids are still in half sleeves. Tomorrow, they are planning to do lots of interesting activities such as horseback riding, watching sheep shearing etc.. ４月の結団式から４ヶ月、ようやくこの日がやってきました。今日からスタディツアー開始です！夏休みの混雑を見越して早めに到着した空港では、そこここでお揃いのブルーのTシャツを着たみんなとすれ違います。みんなどことなくそわそわしたような、でも期待に輝いたそんな顔つきでした。これから１０日間、親元を離れて全く新しい環境で人々と出会い、未知の世界を目にしてきます。どんな冒険が待っているでしょうか。どんな出会いをするのでしょうか。新しい言葉を覚え、友を作り、人に優しくされたり、したりする充実した１０日間になることを祈っています。ブログでも活動内容を報告していきます。ぜひ、団員の経験を見守ってください。そして、冬のオーストラリアの写真を見て、いっときの涼を感じていただければ、と思います（笑） It's been 4months since the study tour group was formed, and its finally the BIG DAY today! The faces of children look a little nervous but also beaming with excitement and expectation. They are off to a 10-day adventure, away from parents. They will meet new people in totally a new environment. They will learn more English, will make new friends, will learn to be kind to others and appreciate other people's kindness for them. We will report their activities on the blog as frequently as possible in the next 10 days. Join their adventure, and also, get a bit of cool breeze looking at the Winter pictures from Australia!

今日はスタディツアー研修の最終日でした。連日の酷暑で熱中症が全国で多発したり、少し気温が下がったと思ったら台風が来るというので、子どもたちの安全をどう守りながら実施しようかと気を揉みましたが、なんとか無事とり行うことができました。午前は会議室と音楽室で練習を行い、午後は体育館で保護者の方々を招いてのパフォーマンスお披露目会。大縄、歌、ピアノ、空手、スピーチ、書道、と盛りだくさんですが、みんな限られた練習時間の中、真剣に楽しく取り組み、ここまで一緒に進んできました。あとは本番を楽しむだけです。ぜひ思いっきりはじけて人生に一度しかないこの２０１８年の特別な夏を (または向こうの冬を！）、体全体で楽しんできてほしいと思います。 (以下ラフな英訳続く・・この時期になるとホストファミリーの方々がホームページを覗いてくださることがあるので） It was the final rehearsal day for the study-tour performance today. Due to the heat wave and typhoon, we were worried about how to ensure the safety of children, but luckily all the climate problems gave us a bit of break so we could have a run through without any problem. This year's performance is a composite of many different elements such as songs, piano, karate, speeches and calligraphy. Within the limited time, everyone committed themselves and had fun at the same time to make it come as close to perfection as possible. Now only thing that's left to be done is to enjoy the whole experience. The summer of 2018 is the special summer that will never come again. Let's make it the best summer(or winter there?) ever!
