3日目：チェラバでの2日目は、朝から盛りだくさんでした。朝食、朝礼の後、馬に乗ってバランスロックまでのハイキング。みんなでオーストラリアの雄大な自然を体感しました。広い青空を見上げ、大きな岩の上で大の字になっている写真が素敵です。雄大な風景の写真や映像は、ネット時代の今、探せばいくらでも「見る」ことはできますが、五感に訴えかける経験に取って変わることはできません。二次元で表現できない「身体的な知」を多く得ることにも大きな価値があると思っています。
午後は羊の毛刈り見学や、動物への餌やり体験、また夕飯後には星空をみんなで見にいきました。冬のオーストラリアの夜空。街のあかりに邪魔されることなく、満天の星空を見ることができたようです。引率の撮った素晴らしい写真でさえ伝え切ることができない、どんなにか静かで不思議に満ちた光景だったことでしょう。帰ってきたら感想を聞いてみたいです。
4日目：チェラバでの最後の日です。午前中は宝物探しゲームをしたり、チームに分かれてゲームをして過ごしました。ベランダでランチを取ったのち、お世話になったチェラバリゾートをバスで出発。ようやくアイアンサイド小学校にて、ホストファミリーとの対面を果たしました。ここからがスタディツアーのメインパートの始まりです。今日は土曜なので、明日の日曜日はみんなホストファミリーとそれぞれに過ごす予定になっています。そして月曜日は、いよいよパフォーマンスの本番です！みんな頑張ってね！
Day 3: The second day at Cherrabah was full day with activities. After breakfast and morning meeting, children did horseback riding and trailed to Balance Rock. Great opportunity to appreciate the grand beauty of Australian wilderness. My favorite photo is the one with a girl lying on the rock under the big blue sky. We can search and see tons of beautiful sceneries on internet nowadays, but seeing it is one thing, and experiencing it is quite another.
In the afternoon, they saw sheep shearing, and fed animals. At night, they enjoyed star gazing. Australian winter starry night. No city light that mask the beauty of constellations. It must have been a gorgeous and quiet moment with sense of wonder. Would very much love to hear their impression when they come back.
Day 4: Last day at Cherrabah. Children enjoyed scavenger hunt and some team games. After lunch, they left for Ironside, and finally got together with host family. The main part of the tour has just begun. It's Saturday today, and tomorrow, they will spend the weekend with their host families. On Monday, they will perform songs and other arts in a welcome party. Go Sakai kids! We are all cheering for you from Japan!!
